Geoffrey's Early Life Geoff was born at this delightful little pub in 1930
Then of course it was a poverty stricken existence to be tolerated rather than enjoyed. Most pubs are the same today. Thanks to the upbringing amongst the imbibing classes Geoffrey acquired a fine sense of humour, and adventure. Ironically the old drunks that inspired him only ever spoke of adventure and didn't ever actually do anything. There was a small workshop in the barns by the pub run by an itinerant (probably a Gypsy) called Calvert. He worked on various machines and cars. Geoffrey was fascinated by what he saw & decided at a tender age that cars would be the thing for him! He also developed a taste for fine ale which has never left him, indeed he has been described as a "champion slurper". Every year he receives recognition from the licenced trade organisations for his outstanding contribution to the licencees hardship & retirement funds.
Geoffrey has always been rather keen on cars From an early age he became very keen on racing and has been quite successful although very shy of publicity some of these rare pictures can chart his progress. Racing at Donington in his early years
On three wheels as well as four! British trials championship.
